According to the Romanian Patriarchate informations, after an audience at the Cotroceni Palace, the Antiochian Patriarch, John X Yazigi, and the Romanian Patriarch, Daniel, visited the “Saint Spyridon – Old” church from Bucharest (the capital city of Romania).
The main reason of this visit is that the former Antiochian Patriarch Ignatius IV, has consecrated this church on the 26th October 1996, with the former Romanian Orthodox Patriarch, Teoctist Arapasu, which was rebuilt after it was demolished during the communist regime.
Antiochian Patriarch received an icon of St. Spyridon from this parish. Later, they visited the socio-medical center of the same parish.
